robins that visit the garden
A gardener's constant companion - that's the robin. Town gardens can offer much in the way of food and nesting sites, as long as there is something to attract the robin in the first place. Plants, shrubs, hedges and trees all play host to insect life and a robin can find rich pickings. You only have to start digging in your garden to find the robin close by, eagerly waiting for any worms to be turned over in the soil, although he's pretty good at locating them himself. If you can get yourself a resident robin, you'll also get a beautiful little singer! Usually perched up quite high, he unleashes his clear, resonant tones for all to hear - a pure joy!
